Urban Gardening contest held

A total of six entries joined the Urban Gardening Contest initiated by Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Chair of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Technology Committee. The evaluation was done by the staff of the City Agriculturist Office. The urban gardens feature the use of organic fertilizer and recyclable materials. A total cash prize of 6,000 pesos awaits the winners of the contest. The winners will be announced in October 2012. According to Kgd. Maboloc, the prizes can be used as seed money to improve the gardening projects of the participants. The purpose of the project is two-fold: food sustainability in the household and the promotion of the care of the environment.

Culmination Program for 3rd Batch of Tech-Voc trainees held

A total of 87 trainees graduated during the third batch of Barangay Daliao Tech-Voc Training Programme, held last August 15, 2012. Ms. Janet Escoval of TESDA also presented to PB Rodolfo Te, Kgd. Ryan Maboloc and Engr. Bong Dumugho the Certificate of Recognition accrediting Barangay Daliao as a Training Center for Metal Arc Welding and Consumer Electronics. According to Inst. Teodoro Espera, a total of 27 finished consumer electronics in various competencies. Some 60 trainees finished metal arc welding. The program was also attended by Coun. Bernie Al-ag, Kgd. Munding Zapanta and Kgd. Rodel Granada. The 4th batch of trainees will commence on Sept. 1, 2012.
