5 STEP College scholars now on 2nd year

Five Support for Tertiary Education Program (STEP) scholars from Barangay Daliao have pursued their courses, now on their 2nd year, at the Davao Central College. The students have been recommended by PB Rodolfo Te and former Education Comm. Chair Ryan Maboloc. They are enrolled in criminology and IT. The scholars have undergone a rigid screening and went through a competitive exam. PB Te is elated that Mayor Sara Duterte have supported the scholars from Daliao who are into their 2nd year level. They have been initially funded by the Barangay and the SK but have since been absorbed by STEP. Meanwhile, Kgd. Raymond Zapanta of the Comm. on Education has continued his support for the Day Care Centers and the three elementary schools through different projects and activities.

Barangay Council approves 7.9 million Annual Budget

The Daliao Barangay Council has approved its 7.9 million Annual Budget for 2013 during the regular session last Sept. 2, 2012. Finance Chair Kgd. Junex Oberez sponsored the motion which carries 1.5 million of Barangay Development Fund allocation for infrastructure. Among the projects are road concreting for Rovical, Community Stage for Prudential and San Roque, line canal for St. Michael and San Vicente, and concreting of approaches at San Nicolas, San Roque and Guardian St. PB Rodolfo Te also mentioned that funds for basic services will be made available, including allocations for women, senior citizens, and alternative education.
