BDC endorse Southern Mindanao Food Terminal in Daliao

The Barangay Development Council has endorsed the Southern Mindanao Food Terminal project, initially funded with 70 million by the National Government in 2015. In March 2014, the SCHEMA Group, the firm tasked to design the Food Terminal, presented the proposed plans and designs for the conversion of the old-Daratex into a mixed-used development. The group, which was commissioned by the National Development Company, made consultations with barangay officials, residents of Sitio Pogi-lawis, and those residing inside the Daratex compound regarding their concerns, most notably on relocation. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc opined that this development should be welcomed as it will give employment opportunities to the people and that the barangay should be open-minded to progress and development. PB Rodolfo Te encouraged those in attendance to support the project as this will be beneficial not only to the barangay but to the city and Mindanao's economy as a whole.

Daliao MARLINS Disaster Quick Response Team organized

The Barangay Daliao MARLINS Disaster Quick Response Team was organized last March 2014 in order to respond to potential threats from natural calamities. Supported by a budget of 110,000 pesos sourced from the 2014 Annual Fund, the 21-member team underwent a training under the City's 911 on the different skills and competencies needed for disaster preparedness and mitigation. PB Rodolfo Te, Engr. Bong Dumogho, and Kgd. Ryan Maboloc graced the 8-day training held at the Barangay Hall and in on-site locations along the coastlines of the barangay.

Daliao Small Fishermen Livelihood Association now registered with SEC

The Daliao Small Fishermen Livelihood Association is now registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. This was the report of Kgd. Ryan Maboloc during the second regular session of the Sangguniang Barangay held last January 5, 2014. In addition, he also informed that the association, which consists of members and officers of the BFARMC, Fish Warden and Bantay Dagat, will also be registered as a cooperative to avail of livelihood assistance from the government. The aim, he mentioned, is to help improve the income of poor fisherfolks. The plan was finalized during the BFARMC meeting held last December 30, 2014, which was attended by Kgd. Bong Dumogho, Kgd. Maboloc, BFARMC pointman Manoling Seguerra and TechVoc supervisor Ariel Rubia.

BDF Projects to be implemented

The Sangguniang Barangay has identified projects that will be implemented through the Barangay Development Fund. The projects include the completion of road at San Vicente St., water system at Sitio Rovical and Pogi-Lawis, drainage improvement at Fish Port Avenue (Acosta clinic side), road entrances at San Roque and St. Michael, and the repair of Day Care and Project Hope Centers. The total cost of these infrastructure projects is 1.4 million pesos.

Raymond Zapanta is new Barangay Secretary; Joan Acaso is retained as Treasurer (updated)

Punong Barangay Rodolfo B. Te has appointed former three-term kagawad Raymond Zapanta as the new Barangay Secretary effective January 2013. He was concurred by the Barangay Council last January 5, 2014 during the regular session. The appointment was based on PB Oping Te's final decision. Meanwhile, Treasurer Joan Acaso's re-appointment has been concurred last December 1, 2013. Ms. Acaso's efficiency has been cited as the basis for her re-appointment. Also announced was the appointment of Ariel Rubia as new tech-voc supervisor and Manolito Seguerra as new BFARMC pointman.

9.02 million Annual Budget approved

The Sangguniang Barangay has approved its Annual Budget for 2014 in the amount of 9.02 million pesos during its regular session last November 3, 2013. PB Oping Te has announced that the fund will be used to pursue his human development agenda, with funds allocated for the improvement of Day Care centers, technical education, gender and development, livelihood, peace and order, health and social services, water systems, among others. The fund allocates 55% for personal services, 20% for the BDF, 10% for MOOE, 10% for the SK, and 5% for calamity. The SK fund amounting to almost a million will await the directive from the government.

1.805 million BDF for 2014 approved

The Sangguniang Barangay has approved the 1.805 million Barangay Development Fund during the regular session last November 3, 2013. According to Kgd. Junnex Oberez, projects include allocation for Day Care centers, water systems, drainage systems, concreting of approaches and roads, among others. Priority sitios include Dona Rosa, San Roque, FESA-Proper A, Rovical, Prudential, DUHA, Pogi-lawis, St. Michael and San Jose. PB Oping Te announced during the session that the improvement of Day Care centers will be his priority, with five centers getting almost half of the BDF. The Barangay has also approved its supplemental budget for 2013 which has allocated funds for the acquisition of equipment for the two Barangay Health Centers.
