Kgd. Joven Anthony Mulat, new chair of Committee on Health, to lead bloodletting activity; Kgd. Raymond Zapanta and SK Chair Maria Aquino chosen as members

  Kagawad Joven Anthony Mulat, the new chairman of the Committee on Health of Barangay Daliao, will lead the bloodletting activity this coming September 25, 2021. The activity will start at 7 AM until 12NN. The program is in coordination with the Davao Blood Center and is fully supported by the Sangguniang Barangay. Kgd. Mulat also revealed that Kgd. Raymond Zapanta and SK Chair Maria Pollo Aquino will be the members of his committee, which is tasked to assist the efforts of the City Government of Davao to overcome the pandemic. The Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition scholars are in full support of the chairman of the Committee on Health, as revealed during the session early this month. 

DPWH to implement more infrastructure projects in Barangay Daliao - PB Rodolfo Te

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has implemented various infrastructure projects in Barangay Daliao this year. The road widening project to four lanes in J. dela Cruz St. and Fish Port Ave. is on-going while another budget has been allocated for various road concreting projects and drainage improvement in the barangay, including a proposed multi-purpose building that will serve as a new recreation center. PB Rodolfo Te is grateful to President Rody Duterte, Mayor Sara Duterte, Sen. Bong Go, and Congressman Isidro Ungab for the progress they have brought to the barangay. The Sangguniang Barangay, especially the Committee on Infrastructure led by Kgd. Genaro Oberez Jr., and members Kgd. Ryan Maboloc and Kgd. Joseph Dumogho, has been active in the effort to push for equitable and sustainable development meant to benefit their constituents and the next generation. Barangay Daliao is one of the biggest barangays in Davao City in terms of population.

DPWH XI saves 100-year old Acacia Tree in Daliao from cutting

  The Department of Public Works and Highways XI has saved the 100-year old Acacia Tree in Barangay Daliao from cutting. This was revealed by PB Rodolfo Te to the Sangguniang Barangay as he read a letter from the DPWH during a regular session held last June 6, 2021. It can be recalled that four barangay officials, namely, Kgd. Joseph Dumogho, Kgd. Joven Anthony Mulat, Kgd. Raymund Zapanta, and Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, have petitioned the DPWH to save the heritage tree in order to preserve its value to the environment. Dr. Moises Torrentira, an environmental planner, gave an opinion that the tree is healthy and poses no threat to motorists. The Sangguniang Barangay passed a resolution endorsing the petition to the DPWH. The DPWH said in the letter that the on-going road widening project will be adjusted. 

Educating the Youth through Values Formation (2015-19)

We believe in educating the youth. Barangay Daliao has a Values Formation Program that has reached out to hundreds of youth leaders in the past five years (2015-19). The Sangguniang Barangay has developed a program for the youth through the initiative of Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc. "PB Rodolfo Te is a role model when it comes to good values," says Kgd. Maboloc. The punong barangay himself emphasizes the role of values in the family. Kgd. Maboloc, who is a professor at Ateneo, wants to continue the program through Mind Education with Pastor Samuel Cho of the Good News Church. Prior to the pandemic, the Sangguniang Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan have hosted five (5) values formation workshops, one (1) youth leaders summit, and three (3) leadership trainings. Kgd. DPWH XI receives Petition from Barangay Daliao to save 100-year old Acacia Tree

  The Department of Public Works and Highways XI has received the petition of the Sangguniang Barangay of Daliao to save the century-old acacia tree in Daliao, Toril District, Davao City. It was received by Mr. Sherwin Matucol of DPWH XI who attended the regular session on April 8, 2021 upon the invitation of the petitioners. The said petition was initiated by Kgd. Joseph Dumogho, Kgd. Joven Anthony Mulat, Kgd. Raymond Zapanta, and Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc. It was duly endorsed by PB Rodolfo Te on the basis of a resolution that was passed by the council. The petitioners are appealing to the DPWH to adjust the program of works of the road widening project to spare the tree that is considered a heritage by barangay constituents. As a precaution, Kgd. 4 Barangay Officials to file Petition to Save a 100-year old Acacia Tree in Daliao

In a show of unity for Mother Nature, Kgd. Joseph Dumogho, Kgd. Joven Anthony Mulat, Kgd. Raymond Zapanta, and Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc will file a Petition to Save a 100-year Acacia Tree in Barangay Daliao. The century old tree is in danger of being cut because of a road widening project. However, upon inspection and with the opinion of an urban planner consulted by Kgd. Maboloc, the tree does not have to be cut necessarily even if a second lane is to be added to the road. The tree, located at the junction of Fish Port Avenue and J. Dela Cruz Street, is healthy.  Kgd. Maboloc, who is a professor at Ateneo de Davao University, has posted online his appeal to the Department of Public Works and Highways to spare the tree. He has also contacted through informal channels the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources - CENRO and the DPWH Region XI on the matter. Daliao Tech-Voc Center Reopens under Strict Health Protocols

The Tech-Voc Center in Barangay Daliao has resumed its in-person classes beginning in late February 2021 under strict health protocols and guidelines. The Sangguniang Barangay wrote to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and subsequently got an approval to re-open the center with classes limited to five (5) students per session, the wearing of facemask, and social distancing.  Kgd. Joseph Dumogho and Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc endorsed to PB Rodolfo Te the move to resume the classes in order to serve the constitutents of Barangay Daliao and the other students from different barangays who have shown interest to continie their training in welding, electronics and electrical installation.  The instructors of the program are Jerson Beduya, Ricky Cabato and Teodoro Espera, all TVET holders. SK Daliao holds First Values Formation Webinar

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Daliao, in coordination with Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, hosted via FB Live the First SK Values Formation Webinar last March 13, 2021. Dr. Rogelio Bayod of Cor Jesu College gave a talk on "Leadership and Commitment" while Kgd. Maboloc, lectured on "The Ten Things You can Do to Help your Country." SK Chairman Maria Pollo Aquino gave the opening remarks while Kgd. Tonton Mulat read the rationale. It was also attended by SK Kgd. Meepoy Villar and SK Kgd. Jamil Musa. The event was viewed online by 400+ youth members via the Sangguniang Kabataan FB Page. 

Kgd. Zapanta holds consultation on women empowerment

Kagawad Raymond Zapanta has held a successful consultation with the women sector in Barangay Daliao in March 21, which was attended by many participants. Dr. Potpot Villafuerte was the guest speaker who shared to the attendees the value of women empowerment. The event was also attended by former SK kagawads Mitzi Balasabas and Juvy Lucero. Ms. Carmelita Lorro helped Kgd. Zapanta in facilitating the activity which discussed the issues and problems of women in the barangay. Kgd. Tonton Mulat and Sec. Barangay Daliao Tech-Voc Heroes

Last December 18, 2020, the Provincial Training Center of the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, presented the Tech-Voc Award to the instructors and supervisor of the Training Center in Barangay Daliao for Meritorious Service.  The awardees were Engr./Kgd. Joseph Dumogho, Inst. Teodoro Espera, Inst. Jerson Beduya, Inst. Ricky Cabato, and Supv. Manolito Seguerra. Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc was the chairman of the Tech-Voc Awards Committee.  The event was held at G-Mall Toril and was followed by a fellowship lunch at Penong's Restaurant courtesy of Kgd. Maboloc. PB Rodolfo Te also conferred the award on December 19, 2020 at a separate ceremony at the Barangay Session Hall.
