Educating the Youth through Values Formation (2015-19)

We believe in educating the youth. Barangay Daliao has a Values Formation Program that has reached out to hundreds of youth leaders in the past five years (2015-19). The Sangguniang Barangay has developed a program for the youth through the initiative of Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc. "PB Rodolfo Te is a role model when it comes to good values," says Kgd. Maboloc. The punong barangay himself emphasizes the role of values in the family. Kgd. Maboloc, who is a professor at Ateneo, wants to continue the program through Mind Education with Pastor Samuel Cho of the Good News Church.

Prior to the pandemic, the Sangguniang Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan have hosted five (5) values formation workshops, one (1) youth leaders summit, and three (3) leadership trainings. Kgd. Maboloc has invited professors from the best universities in the region. Past speakers include Fr. Dexter Veloso, Fr. Urbano Pardillo Jr., Fr. Lentoy Bentayao, Dr. Adrian Tamayo, Dr. Moises Torrentira, Dr. Sherlito Sable, Dr. Roger Bayod, Dr. Peter Elicor, Prof. Lunar Fayloga, Ms. Jeresa Ochave, and Ms. Kathleen Pastrana.

The program teaches young men and women in the barangay the values of Christian leadership, the idea of good governance, the principles of transparency and accountability, the importance of the youth in nation building, as well as the role of good character in making a just society. Kgd. Bong Dumogho, Kgd. Tonton Mulat, Kgd. Munding Zapanta, and SK Chairman Maria Pollo Aquino, have contributed to the growth of the program in the last five years.
