Director Nestor S. Tabada of TESDA attends Culmination Program

Director Nestor S. Tabada of TESDA attended the Culmination Program of the second batch of the Technical Education Training in Barangay Daliao on December 11, 2011. PB Rodolfo B. Te thanked the graduates for their perseverance. He also recognized the support of TESDA for the success of the program. There are 29 graduates for welding and 15 for consumer electronics. Child Alert Foundation has sponsored the training of 10 students. The skills will be able to help the trainees in their employment prospects. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc and Treas. Bong Dumugho, together with instructors Teodoro Espera and Jerson Beduya are delighted that the year-long program has been positive. The enrolment for the third batch will be on January 2012. Training will begin in February. The program, which is free for all trainees, is part of the theme of the Barangay Council which is "realizing human development".

City allots 10 slots for Barangay Daliao College scholars

The City Government of Davao, through the Support for Tertiary Education Program (STEP), has alloted 10 college scholarships slots to Barangay Daliao. Punong Barangay Rodolfo Te wrote City Mayor Sara Duterte to help the ten scholars selected by Barangay Daliao. The scholars are enrolled at Davao Central College. They went through a selection process, including competitive exams. The Commission on Audit advised the Barangay to ask the City Government for assistance. It can be recalled that this Barangay College Scholarship program, the only one of its kind for any barangay, was initiated by the Barangay last June 2011. Kagawad Ryan Maboloc, Committee on Education chair, is happy with the development since he sees it as a game-changer in fighting poverty among the people. Treas. Bong Dumugho is assisting the scholars in processing the documents.

Adopt a Day Care to be implemented in Daliao

The Committee on Education of Barangay Daliao will implement the Adopt a Day Care Program next year. The program, according to Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, aims to provide Day Care centers with the resources necessary for the delivery of early childhood care and development. For 2011, the pilot projects include the improvement of the Lipadas Day Care and the Pantalan Day Care. Four Day Care centers also were repainted. The target next year is to provide new chairs and audio-visual equipment to some 600 children who are enrolled.

75T alloted for Tech-Voc Training

The Barangay Council has allocated an amount of 75T for the Technical Vocational Training in Barangay Daliao. A big part of the budget will be for the welding and consumer electronics courses. An amount is also allocated for the purchase of a welding machine. "Engr. Bong Dumugho is instrumental for the realization of the said program", says Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Committee on Education Chair. The third batch of training will commence in January of 2012. So far, 84 students have availed of the program designed to equip barangay constituents will the competencies necessary for jobs here and abroad.

42 students to graduate from TESDA Training

Forty two students will graduate from the second batch of the Technical Vocational Training Program sponsored by Barangay Daliao, in coordination with the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority. According to Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Committee Chair, twenty will come from Ornamental Metal Arc Welding while twenty two will come from Consumer Electronics. The training, supervised by Engr. Bong Dumugho, is free of charge for Barangay Daliao constituents. The tentative graduation day is set on Dec. 10, 2011. The third batch will commence early next year.

1 million BDF Projects implemented

One (1.08) million pesos worth of Barangay Development Fund projects are currently being implemented by the Barangay Council of Daliao. According to Kgd. Junex Oberez, Ifrastructure Committee Chair, the projects include the Dona Manuela Road (400,000), San Jose Road (200,000), FESA road, (180,000), Line Canal St. Jude (150,000), and Line canal DUHA (150,000). He adds that also in the pipeline are the Community Stage at Lipadas (150,000), Pantalan (100,000) and Drainage at Kanipaan (114,000). Barangay Captain Oping Te is thankful that the BDF is being implemented to respond to the needs of the people in the sitios. The Barangay is currently finalizing the list of projects for next year, the bulk of which will go to Sitio San Roque, Prudential, Pogi-Lawis, St. Jude, and DUHA.

Tech-Voc 2nd Batch Begins

Forty new students have enrolled in the Technical-Vocational Training Program of Barangay Daliao. The program, which is supported by TESDA, offers Consumer Electronics and Welding. Classes are held every weekend. Currently, Child Alert Foundation has signed a MOA with Barangay Daliao on the former's desire to donate supplies and materials, including equipment to the program. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc is in charge of the program, with the supervision of Engr. Bong Dumugho.

Barangay Daliao to donate to flood victims

Barangay Daliao will donate used clothings, food stuff, and rice to the victims of the recent flash flood in Davao City. Punong Barangay Rodolfo Te encouraged all his barangay functionaries and leaders to give to the victims during the Flag Raising Ceremony. Donors can bring their donations at the Barangay Hall today, July 4. Barangay officials will distribute the donations on July 5. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc said that we have to show our solidarity especially to those who are in dire need. Kgd. Rodel Granada, through the Guardians Brotherhood, also sent goods to the barangay. The SK, through Chair Diana Lataquin and LM Bakeshoppe, donated one sack of rice. The Barangay Council will also donate one sack of rice. Sitio Leader Jacinta Alcoriza and SK Kgd. Bernadette Bolo were the earliest to send their donations.

Barangay Daliao selects ten college scholars

The Daliao Barangay Council has selected ten college scholars for SY 2011-2012 who will study at Davao Central College. The scholars are the following: Joanna Penas, Gelli Penas, Ma. Camila Gloria, Sarah Alemania, Aira Alcazar, Frinces Marayag, Mariane Alingal, Penelope Glarian, Ma. Michaela Obeso, and Louie Neth Belo. Five of the scholars will get a full tuition and fees scholarship while the rest will get a 5,000 tuition subsidy per semester. The scholars took a competitive exam and were selected from a pool of 42 applicants. They also got a certification from the CSSDO as indigents. PB Rodolfo Te expressed confidence that the program will help them change their lives. The Committee on Education, chaired by Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, initiated the program, with the support of the Barangay Council and the SK through Chair Diana Lataquin.

Barangay Daliao holds Culmination Day for TESDA Training

Forty two students finished in the Barangay Daliao Technical Vocational Training Program, in coordination with the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority, last June 25, 2011. Punong Barangay Rodolfo Te expressed his congratulations to the graduates of Welding and Consumer Electronics. TESDA Specialist Araceli Guazon thanked the Barangay Council, instructors and the students for their effort. TESDA Provincial Director Engr. Nestor S. Tabada signed the Certificate of Training. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc and Engr. Joseph Dumugho initiated the program with the help of the Barangay Council and the SK. Mr. Teodoro "Teody" Espera, NCII and Mr. Jerson "Tonix" Beduya, NCII are the instructors. The second batch will begin in July 16, 2011.

Araw ng Daliao opens

The week-long Araw ng Barangay Daliao celebration opened with a very successful parade. The Daliao Barangay Council, Sangguniang Kabataan, Lupon members, Prudential Women's Association, San Roque Civic Organization, TB Task Force, Day Care and Project Hope teachers, BNS, BHW, Barangay Tanod, Sitio leaders and constituents, and many others joined the early morning parade on April 25. The parade was followed by a Cultural Dance Contest and Poster Making. The activities for the week include Showtime, Gandang-ganda, One Aerobics Night, Basketball and Volleyball Championships, Mutya ng Daliao, Faces Fashion Show, and the Inday Sara Caravan on the 1st of May. On May 1, there will be a Mass, Caravan, and the Finals Night and Coronation of the Mutya ng Daliao. PB Rodolfo Te thanked all the people for their participation.

Kgd. Granada and Zapanta in action

Barangay Daliao is on the move in the area of health and agriculture. Two kagawads are in action to achieve more for Barangay Daliao's development. Kgd. Rodel Granada has been actively promoting the Ligtas Tigdas campaign in Barangay Daliao with the target of immunizing all children in the barangay. Meanwhile, Kgd. Munding Zapanta has recently organized the BFARMC in the barangay. The officers were inducted last April 11, 2011. Barangay Captain Oping Te has given his full support to this program which seeks to achieve the good for the people of Daliao.

Araw ng Daliao to be celebrated May 1

The Araw ng Barangay Daliao will be celebrated this May 1, 2011. The theme is "Lihuk Daliao, Lambo Daliao". This year's chairman is Kgd. Jonah Alar. The week-long celebration will begin this April 25 with a Grand Parade, Cultural Night, Dance Contest, Belly Dancing, Daliao Aerobics Club Night, Daliao Got Talent, and the Mutya ng Daliao. The Basketball tournament sponsored by the SK will have its championship games on April 30, 2011. SK Chairman Diana Lataquin is chair of the tournament. Brgy. Captain Rodolfo Te hopes that the activities will encourage people to participate and contribute to the development of the barangay.

Mayor Duterte graces Moving Up Ceremony in Daliao

Mayor Sarah Duterte graced the Moving Up Ceremony of the Day Care and Project Hope Centers of Barangay Daliao last March 21, 2011. Mayor Sara encouraged the parents to become responsible and informed everyone of the City's program for children. Barangay Captain Rodolfo Te gave his message suggesting that the barangay will pursue the early childhood care program. Committee on Education Chair Councilor Ryan Maboloc thanked all teachers for their effort and mentioned that the barangay will be steadfast in pursuing its education and human development programs. Almost 600 pupils graduated from the Pre-school.

85 enrol in Barangay Daliao Technical Vocational Program

Eighty five barangay constituents enrolled in the Technical Vocational Program sponsored by the Barangay Council of Daliao. An orientation was held last February 5, 2011, attended by Davao City ALS Supervisor Leticia Telesforo and the Barangay Officials led by PB Rodolfo Te. Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Chairman of the Committee on Education, and Kgd. Rodel Granada, co-member, encouraged the trainees to finish the program. The trainings are on Ornamental Metal Arc Welding and Consumer Electronics. The trainings are held on Saturdays and Sundays and will run for four months or 64 hours for each course.

Gapnud Dubai signs MOU with Barangay Council

Gapnud Dubai, Inc., through its president Vicente Monleon and the Daliao Barangay Council through Punong Barangay Rodolfo Te, signed a Memorandum of Understanding this morning, January 24, 2011, in relation to Gapnud Dubai's program of helping Barangay Daliao constituents get visas for Dubai, UAE. PB Rodolfo Te is elated on this effort by Mr. Monleon which seeks to help those who desire to work abroad. For his part, Mr. Monleon mentioned during the signing that there are many Daliao constituents in Dubai, and it is their desire to help. The project hopes to provide one visa for Dubai every two months. It will begin in February or March this year. The selection will be by lottery. Interested parties may contact the Office of the Barangay Captain.

Kgd. Rodel Granada proposes Integrated Barangay Health Development Program

Kgd. Rodel Granada, Chairman of the Committee on Health of Barangay Daliao, has laid out the plan for an Integrated Barangay Health Development Program. The program intends to systematize the health services provided by the Barangay. Kgd. Grananda has also done some consultations with the stakeholders, including the Barangay Health Workers, to find ways to improve health services in the barangay. The Program Components include: 1. Free Medicines 2. Barangay Health Center services 3. Bloodletting project 4. Reproductive health advocacy He has passed a resolution amounting to 50,000 for the purchase of medicines. An amount of 10,000 pesos has also been allocated for the bloodletting project. Moreover, a reproductive health advocacy will be introduced in the barangay this year.

Daliao Barangay Council and SK sponsor College Scholarships

The Daliao Barangay Council and the Sangguniang Kabataan have allocated an amount of 200,000 to pay for college scholarships in BS Education at Davao Central College. The Scholarship Committee of the Barangay Council will award eight (8) scholarship grants. This was revealed by Kgd. Ryan Maboloc during the flag raising ceremony last January 17, 2011. The barangay will sponsor all tuition and fees of the students. Maboloc also said that in a talk with Dr. Delia Advincula of DCC, the host institution is elated to be the partner school of this project. Brgy. Captain Oping Te has mentioned that this scholarship program is the backbone of his human development program. To qualify, an applicant must be a resident of Daliao. Application forms will be available this April 2011. Competitive exams will be given as part of the criteria.
