Maboloc now chairs Fisheries and Agriculture Committee

Kagawad Ryan Maboloc has swapped committees with Kagawad Raymund Zapanta during the regular session last January 22, 2012. Maboloc is now chair of the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee while Zapanta is now head of the Education Committee. In line with this, Maboloc has done initial consultations with the barangay fisherfolks. Initial plans include proposals for a Fisherman's Center, Coastal Resource Management, and Livelihood for small fishermen. Barangay Daliao is a well-known fishing community. Maboloc has coordinated with the Institute for Small Fisheries, the Ateneo Social Involvement Coordinating Office and DEVSTRAT for the proposals. A seminar and planning workshop will be slated this summer to be attended by stakeholders and barangay officials to find ways to sustain the fishing community and the barangay's coastal resources.
