256 graduate from Tech-Voc Batch 17

A total of 256 trainees graduated from Batch 17 of the Barangay Daliao Tech-Voc Program. The culminating event, which was attended by TESDA Director Engr. Nestor Tabada, was held last October 29, 2018 at the Covered Court and was attended by PB Rodolfo Te, Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Kgd. Bong Dumogho, Kgd. Lolito Sucayre, and Kgd. Rodel Granada. The program was hosted by Tech-Voc instructor Maris Bolo and Tech-voc supervisor Manoling Seguerra. The competencies offered in the barangay are consumer electronics, electrical installation and maintenance, and metal arc welding. The instructors are Teodoro Espera, Maris Bolo and Gerald Divino.

Perlas ng Panagat crowned

The Perlas ng Panagat was successfully crowned last October 27, 2018 at the Covered Court in Barangay Daliao. The winner was Jamyla Ampis (contestant #2), a student at Cor Jesu College in Digos. The event, sponsored by the Sangguniang Barangay and the Sagguniang Kabataan, was chaired by Kgd. Tonton Mulat and organized by Mr. Dave Lataquin. A total of 20 young women joined the contest which was one of the activities for the 2018 Panagat Festival in Barangay Daliao

7th Bancathon Festival held

The 7th Bancathon Festival was successfully held last October 22, 2018 at Barangay Daliao. The event had two categories, the paddle and the motorized events. A total of 20 teams participated in the contest that was hosted by Kgd. Rodel Granada and Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, and duly supported by PB Rodolfo Te, Kgd. Bong Dumogho, and Kgd. Tonton Mulat. Vice Mayor Bernie Al-ag gave the major prizes of the contest.

Financial Literacy and Cooperativism Seminar

A financial literacy and cooperativism seminar is being held in Barangay Daliao, with topics that include financial literacy, cooperativism, people empowerment and development goals, among others. The program is participated in by the members of the newly established Barangay Cooperative, the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan and youth leaders, and tech-voc students. The first day consists of lectures and the following day will involve discussions on plans and goals and applications of their learnings by the officers of the cooperative. The speakers include Dr. Sherlito Sable, professor at the University of Southeastern Philippines, Ms. Jeresa May Ochave of the Office of City Planning, Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, Ateneo professor, and others from various government agencies. The barangay officials in attendance were PB Oping Te, Kagawad Bong Dumogho, Kagawad Tonton Mulat, SK Chairman Maymay Aquino, and B/Sec. Juvy Lucero.

4th Values Formation Seminar held

The fourth Values Formation Seminar in Barangay Daliao, sponsored by the Sangguniang Kabataan, was successfully held last August 26, 2018 at RLG Resort, Davao City. The speakers were Fr. Ronelo Bentayao of the Archdiocese of Tagum, Dr. Sherlito Sable of USEP, and Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc of Ateneo. The topics included "Values and Human Development," "Human Values and Environmental Protection," and "The Sources of Human Values." The annual seminar, the initiative of Dr. Maboloc who is also a member of the Sangguniang Barangay, aims at orienting the youth with the proper values to mold them into becoming responsible leaders and citizens. The event was graced by PB Oping Te, Kgd. Tonton Mulat, Kgd. Bong Dumogho, SK Chairman Maymay Aquino and B/Sec. Jovelyn Nillas. Also in attendance were SK Kgd. Marfie Ravanes and SK Kgd. Raymond Rubio. More than 100 youth members participated in the day long event.

Sangguniang Barangay Committees assigned

Committee chairmanships in the Sangguniang Barangay of Daliao have been assigned during the first regular session of the new council held last July 7, 2018. The powerful Committee on Finance is now handled by Kgd. Joseph Dumogho while Kgd. Junex Oberez holds the chairmanship of the Committee on Infrastructure and the Committee on Peace and Order. Kgd. Dumogho is also head of the Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries. Meanwhile, Kgd. Ryan Maboloc now chairs the Committee on Education whereas Kgd. Lolito Sucayre handles the Committee on Ethics and Good Governance and the Committee on Urban Planning. Kgd. Rodel Granada holds the chairmanship of the newly merged Committee on Health and Social Services while Kgd. Anthony Mulat is head of the Committee on the Environment and the Committee on Solid Waste Management. Kgd. Munding Zapanta is chair of the Committee on Tourism and SK Chairman Maymay Aquino, by law, chairs the Committee on Youth and Sports.

TESDA Director graces 16th Tech-Voc graduation

TESDA Director Nestor Tabada delivered the inspirational message during the Graduation of the 16th Batch of the LGU-Daliao Tech-Voc Program. In his message, he told the graduates about opportunities that await them as the country moves forward in the arena of development. He also encouraged the barangay officials to institutionalize the tech-voc program. PB Oping Te expressed his elation for the new milestone of the center, having graduated 195 students in three competencies. Those in attendance include Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Kgd. Rodel Granada, Kgd. Susan Tega, and Kgd. Bong Dumogho. Also in attendance were Inst. Maris Bolo, Inst. Teodoro Espera, and Mr. Manolito Seguerra, tech-voc supervisor. Kgd. Maboloc told the graduates that success depends in making the right choices and emphasized the role of the training program as a step in changing one's outlook in life. Kgd. Oping Te re-elected to 3rd term

Punong Barangay Rodolfo B. Te was re-elected to his third term during the recently concluded May 14, 2018 Barangay Elections. He garnered 4,830 votes as against the 2,419 votes of Rene Pe Benito and the 1,254 votes of Susan Tega. Meanwhile, former barangay captain Lolito Sucayre topped the votes for barangay kagawad with 4,178. He was followed by Christopher Ryan Maboloc with 3,999, Genaro Oberez Jr. with 3,793, Joven Anthony Mulat with 3,642, Rodel Granada with 3,493, Joseph Dumogho with 3,463, and Raymond Zapanta with 3,423.

90th Araw ng Barangay successful

The 90th Founding Anniversary of Barangay Daliao was successfully celebrated last May 1, 2018. The theme of the event was "Kaayuhan para sa tanang katawhan." PB Rodolfo Te gave a message encouraging unity and participation in the vision of human development. The activities included the 5th Bancathon Race, Inter-Sitio Basketball Tournament, Salu-Salu sa Barangay, and the Tech-Voc Festival, in which outstanding techvoc graduates from Daliao were recognized. Third District Representative Alberto Ungab graced the occasion and discussed development efforts on infrastructure in the Third District where Daliao is set to be the agro-industrial center. The Success of the Tech-Voc Program

One of the most important projects under the administration of PB Rodolfo Te is the Tech-Voc Program, a barangay-based TESDA-accredited training that has produced more than 2,000 graduates since its start in 2011. It received its accreditation from TESDA in 2011 through the effort of Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc. The program is led by two unassuming individuals, Dr. Christopher Ryan Maboloc (the brain behind the project) and Engr. Bong Dumogho (the heart and soul of the project). The project is a TESDA Kabalikat Awardee for Region XI. The program started in the old barangay hall building and used the personal welding equipment and tools of Engr. Dumogho. The first teachers were Teodoro Espera, Engr. Dumogho, Jerson Beduya and Gerard Divino. Later addition were Judith Pontanoza and Maris Bolo. All instructors are TVET holders. Kagawad Ryan Maboloc files COC for third and final term

Christopher Ryan Maboloc has filed his Certificate Of Candidacy for his third and final term as Barangay Kagawad of Daliao, Toril District, Davao City. He previously served in 2010-2013 and 2013-18. His projects, with the support of the Sangguniang Barangay, include the establishment of the Tech-Voc Training Center (with Kgd. Joseph Dumogho) that has given free training to 2,000 constituents; the BFARMC Livelihood Program (with PB Oping Te and the Department of Agriculture) that distributed 10 small bancas, 30 motorized bancas, and fishing gears to 47 beneficiaries; and infrastructure projects which include the construction of a water system at Rovical Village, the completion of road concreting at San Vicente, and the completion of road at FESA Village. PB Oping Te files candidacy

PB Rodolfo Te has filed his certificate of candidate for punong barangay. He will be running for his third and final term as village official in Barangay Daliao, Toril District, Davao City. Team Oping Te campaign manager Raymond 'Munding' Zapanta revealed that their line up includes Kgd. Junex Oberez, Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Kgd. Rodel Granada, Kgd. Bong Dumogo, Kgd. Tonton Mulat, B/Sec. Zapanta, and Tech-Voc supervisor Manoling Seguerra. The elections will be held this May 14, 2018.

PB Oping Te bares May 2018 Line Up

PB Rodolfo Te will be seeking reelection in the forthcoming May 14, 2018 Barangay Elections. The line up of Team Oping Te are incumbent kagawads Junex Oberez, Ryan Maboloc, Rodel Granada, Bong Dumogho, and Tonton Mulat, and former brgy. sec. Munding Zapanta and tech-voc coordinator Manoling Seguerra. PB Oping Te and the Sangguniang Barangay implemented unprecedented projects for Daliao, including the tech-voc program, infrastructure development, youth and emergency services programs, sports development, support for day care centers, peace and order and barangay justice system, and livelihood for fisherfolks. The barangay was also a TESDA Region XI Kabalikat Awardee, the Davao City Outstanding Lupon Tagapamayapa Awardee (runner-up), and a DILG District Barangay Management Awardee. The barangay also boasts of new facilities, including a new 5-million barangay hall, a 4-million tech-voc building, a new 6-million covered court for sitio DUHA, and the 140-million food terminal.

Davao Food Terminal soon to Open

The Davao Food Terminal, also known as the Agri-Pinoy Trading Center, will soon open in Barangay Daliao, Toril, Davao City. In a visit to the facility by Kgd. Christopher Ryan Maboloc, chair of the Committee on Agriculture of the Sangguniang Barangay of Daliao, he was informed that the facility will become the "bagsakan center" for fruits and vegetables in Davao City. The sprawling government-owned establishment is five (5) hectares, and boasts of market stalls for vendors, conveyors for fruit and vegetable washing and sorting, dormitories for farmers, offices and wide parking spaces. The project, initiated by the Department of Agriculture, was supported by former Rep. Isidro Ungab who secured the appropriation for the project and Mayor Sara Duterte who led the implementation of the project through the City Engineer's Office. The facility is expected to open in May 2018.

PB Oping Te celebrates birthday, grateful for many years of public service

PB Rodolfo Te celebrated his birthday together with family, barangay officials and leaders, and with his close friends. The kind punong barangay is grateful for his many years of service in Barangay Daliao. Developments in the barangay are made manifest through the new barangay hall, a new two-storey tech-voc building, the new covered court at Sitio DUHA, various road concreting and drainage projects in the different sitios, including social welfare programs for the people. The different sectors, including senior citizens, women, and youth have also benefited from his good leadership. The barangay also conducts disaster preparedness and risk management trainings and facilitates livelihood support to fisherfolks and indigents. Kgd. Maboloc spearheads Barangay Coop

Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, in his effort to help barangay constituents, is spearheading the creation of a Barangay Multi-Purpose Cooperative. The founding members of the Coop are Sitio leaders, Lupon members, and the Barangay Functionaries. This is part of the Accomplishment Report that he submitted to the Sangguniang Barangay for CY 2017. PB Rodolfo Te expressed his support by helping source out the funds for the coop. Other programs that Kgd. Maboloc initiated include the 3rd Values Formation Seminar, Bancathon 2017 (co-sponsor), and the BFRAMC Livelihood Program through the Department of Agriculture.

Tech-Voc building funded by Rep. Ungab completed

The two-storey, four classroom, four (4) million peso Barangay Daliao Tech-Voc building funded through the initiative of former Rep. Isidro Ungab was completed in the second half of 2017. The Training Center in Barangay Daliao is the only barangay-based TESDA accredited training center in Region XI. The center has graduated 15 batches of trainees totaling 2,117 coming from the various barangays in Toril District and as far as Buhangin District. The Barangay Council is very grateful for the support of the former congressman as well as incumbent Congressman Albert Ungab in realizing the project which gives free training in various competencies to poor constitutents. The program is the brainchild of Kgd. Ryan Maboloc and Kgd. Bong Dumogho. Through the support of PB Rodolfo Te, the center has been instituted in 2011 and granted a TESDA license in the same year by TESDA Director Nestor Tabada. Paskohan sa Barangay 2017

The Paskohan sa Barangay was successfully held. The awarding was done last December 15, 2017. The lighting contest was participated in by sitio leaders, lupon members, barangay functionaries and other sectors in the barangay. PB Rodolfo Te awarded the cash prizes during the Barangay Christmas Party. He thanked all the barangay leaders for their continued support in the development of the barangay.

15th Tech-Voc Culmination held

The 15th Culmination Rites of the Technical-Vocational Training Program was recently held in Barangay Daliao last November 25, 2017. The TESDA-accredited program graduated 117 students from three competencies, namely Metal Arc Welding, Electronics Products Servicing (EPAS), and Electrical Installation and Maintenance. PB Rodolfo Te, as well as Kgd. Bong Dumogho and Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, gave inspirational messages. The instructors in the Tech-Voc program include Teodoro Espera, Judith Fontanoza, Jerson Buduya and Mariz Bolo. Manolito Seguerra and Dennis Casia are the supervisors and assistant supervisors, respectively.

BDC mulls long-term planning

The Barangay Development Council of Daliao has taken steps in terms of a long-term development plan for the barangay. PB Rodolfo Te cites the national projects that the Duterte Administration is set to implement in the City. According to Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, long-term planning is necessary in view of the projects to be implemented by the national government. The projects, which include the new Mindanao Railway System, the Davao Expressway or By-Pass Road, and the Coastal Road, including the soon to be opened Davao Food Exchange Complex in Daliao, will stimulate economic activities and the barangay should be able to prepare its constituents in terms of skills and necessary placement support. The Sangguniang Barangay has also submitted a comprehensive road and drainage system proposal to the Office of the City Mayor.
