A total of six entries joined the Urban Gardening Contest initiated by Kgd. Ryan Maboloc, Chair of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Technology Committee.
The evaluation was done by the staff of the City Agriculturist Office. The urban gardens feature the use of organic fertilizer and recyclable materials.
A total cash prize of 6,000 pesos awaits the winners of the contest. The winners will be announced in October 2012.
According to Kgd. Maboloc, the prizes can be used as seed money to improve the gardening projects of the participants. The purpose of the project is two-fold: food sustainability in the household and the promotion of the care of the environment.
