The Barangay Development Council has endorsed the Southern Mindanao Food Terminal project, initially funded with 70 million by the National Government in 2015.
In March 2014, the SCHEMA Group, the firm tasked to design the Food Terminal, presented the proposed plans and designs for the conversion of the old-Daratex into a mixed-used development.
The group, which was commissioned by the National Development Company, made consultations with barangay officials, residents of Sitio Pogi-lawis, and those residing inside the Daratex compound regarding their concerns, most notably on relocation.
Kgd. Ryan Maboloc opined that this development should be welcomed as it will give employment opportunities to the people and that the barangay should be open-minded to progress and development.
PB Rodolfo Te encouraged those in attendance to support the project as this will be beneficial not only to the barangay but to the city and Mindanao's economy as a whole.
